March 2, 2015 7:30 pm
The Land’s End Composers Competition – 15th Edition took place on March 2, 2016, at the Rozsa Centre. There were 25 submissions from across Canada, out of which three finalists were chosen: Denis Nassar Baptista (U of Calgary), Roydon Tse (U of Toronto); and Alexandre David (Université de Montréal).

The jury consisted of William Jordan (U of Calgary), Vincent Ho (Land’s End Artistic Advisor), and Nicolas Gilbert (Montréal). The first prize winner was La grande Rapa by Alexandre David. The audience prize, by a vote of those in attendance, was awarded to Kosmos by Denis Nassar Baptista. The host for the evening was Allan Gordon Bell. Scores were projected onto a large screen so that the audience could follow and read the music during the performances, and also during the discussion with the judges.
The grand prize is a commission worth $1500.00 for a work to be performed later by Land’s End Ensemble.
1st Prize: Alexandre David – La grande Rapa
2nd Prize: Roydon Tse – Starscape
3rd Prize & Audience Prize: Denis Nassar – Kosmos
