It was another momentous event that featured students of the Mount Royal University Conservatory program with our Land’s End Ensemble. The program featured many contemporary works by today’s leading composers: Omar Daniel, Michael van der Sloot, Gity Razaz, and Lera Auerbach. Our grand finale – performing Frank Ticheli’s In C Dorian on stage and Vincent Ho’s Terry’s Whimsical Dream of Fanciful Birds…in C from the balconies, at the same time – was a tremendous success that left a significant impact on the students and audience.
This project highlighted our commitment to contemporary music education while opening collaborative opportunities to a new generation of students to enrich their educational experiences. Since the start of our residency with MRU Conservatory in 2023, our annual concert has grown in popularity among the students, teachers, and parents, and we hope to continue building on this program with many more exciting projects to come.
